Steps to lose weight
Find out how many extra steps a day it takes to lose a target amount of weight.
How the step count is worked out
Your stride is estimated at about 41.5% of your height. Walking a kilometre burns roughly half a calorie for every kilogram you weigh. Dividing the energy you need to burn by the energy per step gives the number of steps.
Why add a food change?
Walking alone burns energy slowly. A small daily cut, like skipping one sugary drink, cuts the step target a lot and is easier to stick with.
